The stage had an uphill finish (max 15% gradient). Boom did a cross-style bike change from his TT bike to a roadbike at the foot of the climb. From the pics looks like he was the only one among the top finishers who did this maneuver. Climbing with the roadbike made a huge difference.

some nice results for the Blanco early in the season...this TT win plus Tour Down Under overall GC.

wile the big boys were duking it out in oman, the crybaby chose to not race again after initially being in the startlist.
