Mga bais, just wanted to share our South Epic Ride last Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009.

My bike buddy Jam and I planned it to be a round south (322km) but was cut short due to a ligament tear that has been bothering him that he had to take the Ceres, and as I did as well later for safety reasons. Nevertheless, this was an adventure to remember. 'twas a fun relax pace ride, mostly spinning. Early on bai Jam was hurting his right knee, and later both knees. This took it's toll on our itinerary that we had to slow down and eventually stop. Although we haven't completed the loop, it's still an adventure to remember.

Route: Cebu - Carcar - Barili - Moalboal - Santander - Oslob - Alcoy
Total distance: 211km

Before sunrise at Naga...

Going to Carcar...

Arrived in Carcar at 6am...

Had breakfast in Jollibee in Carcar rotonda...

Going to Barili...

At the milk station...

The views were very refreshing...

Arriving at Dumanjug...

At Ronda...

At Alcantara...

Soda break at Moalboal...

Already in Badian...

Hmmmm, what if Kawasan nalang ta.. hehehe..

Had lunch at Malabuyoc around noon time...

Time to go...

The shady roads makes us wanna bike more...

Hmmmm, or Dumaguete nalang kaha.. hehehe..

At Santander...

Sumilon island...

This is where bai Jam had to stop.

Although he still has the strength to continue, his knee ligaments are hurting. So he had to take the Ceres. It's more than half way already so I thought "sayang", so I decided to continue.

All set...

Arrived in Boljoon. It was nearing fiesta there...

Stopped by Boljoon Church to ask for His guidance that He may keep me safe and let me arrive home early. I loaded up some food and water and installed all four of my lights (head lamp, handle bar, white and red blinker at the back).

I continued for 50km more. It was already dark, pitch black in some parts, and sharp curves and buses were passing by at high speeds. I decided to stop for safety reasons, especially that I'm alone. Better be safe today, to live and bike another day. I rode the Ceres from Alcoy.

It was a nice adventure, brokeback ride. hehehe. Nice ride bai Jam! Congrats to ur century mile! Usbon nya ni nato puhon. =)

Pag katong lonely planet ride nako, it was a different experience sad, you get to reflect even deeper, about life, my future, present, past.

And by the way, my prayers were answered: I arrived home safe, and early... =)

Sunod puhon, ma kumpleto na ni... =)

@bai airman:
hehehe. thanks bai airman! salamat ka bai jam sa pagkuha sa pic. mao ni ron ako desktop background. hehe. regarding bai jam's bike geometry, wel perhaps. naga measure ba ang ykk og bike geometry fit for someone on a mtb? from wat i know murag sa road lang ang available.

@bai sher:
tnx bai sher! hehe. o ni agi mi Ginatilan. nindot ang view sa dagat didto. refreshing ang pagsikad.

@bai paul:
thanks bai paul! hehe. ambot lang ani sa weekend. suway2x lang gud. hehe.
thanks. nindot ang jersey. nindot sad to imo gi suot na saxo bank.

@bai husker:

cge bai, kuyog ta sunod ba. sayang lang duty man nimo.

@bai upak:

@bai cyborg:
hehehe, tnx nic. hadlok kaayo sa ngitngit, ga imagine nako naay ungo mu kalit og harang nako. paspasan gud nako sikad. hehehe.

@bai kurs:
heheh. cheesy kaayo mi.. hehe. suwayan lang unsa feeling mag long ride sa south. twas my first time to ride diha dapit, na mulapas na malabuyoc (not even tried on a vehicle). mingaw kaayo dira pero nindot sikad kay kilid sa dalan kay dagat na.
 relaxing kaayo.

@bai earthman:
thanks bai earthman! he's just fine now. perhaps not his size. 'twas also his first epic ride.

I agree to bai Earthman, kakita ko ato iyang bike. I think 100mm ang fork, 15" or worse 16" ang frame. Almost ka-height ra mi ni Jam... way back my XC days, I'm having a hard time finding 75mm stem and 80mm fork. Imagine, 100mm fork now is just perfect for Dirt Jumping para nako... it looks like he's riding a DJ bike on a very very very looooooong road ride!....

also the seatpost is almost for dirt jumping kay layo kaayo sa handlebar...
